We are a small nursery school that is affiliated with Columbia University and offers both half and full days (8-5:45pm) in an eleven-month program. We are housed in a brownstone on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

For the past 20 years we have embraced the Reggio Emilia philosophy and rely on the children’s interests to drive the curriculum and long-term projects. Our teachers are dedicated to furthering the children’s learning.

Open Positions

  • We are seeking substitute teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. The substitute teacher will assist the regular classroom teacher(s) in the daily supervision of children and working with children in whole and small group activities. They will also assist in light cleaning and classroom maintenance.

    All substitute teachers must undergo a complete background clearance through the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, provide an up-to-date medical form with immunizations, be authorized to work to work in the US, and complete required trainings by the NYCDOHMH.

    Hours and days will vary based and requests for substitutes may be scheduled in advance (due to planned absence) or last-minute due to teacher illness/emergency absences.

  • We are seeking an afternoon assistant teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

    Key Responsibilities include:
    - Assist teachers in walking to/from outdoor play and supervising outdoor activities
    - Assist teachers in dismissing children
    - Plan and lead some small group and whole-group activities
    - Carry out responsibilities for supervising and caring for young children
    - Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, and teachers
    - Assist in cleaning and setting up the classroom

    All teachers must undergo a complete background clearance through the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, provide an up-to-date medical form with immunizations, be authorized to work to work in the US, and complete required trainings by the NYCDOHMH.

    Candidates must be available from 3-6pm on most days. This is an hourly paid position with paid vacation and time off; rate is commensurate with experience and education.
